I’m an inventor. I love using my creativity to solve complex challenges, preferably to help people. My mind is made for creation and optimizing. As a child it was already clear I’m a builder. I am a solution-focused thinker. As a perfectionist, repetitive and inefficient tasks annoy me, especially when I see a better solution. I started using smart home products when I was quite young (in my bedroom), way before most people. Back then I expected home automation to evolve fast, because the advantages were so clear to me. I never could have imagined the progress would turn out to be so slow! Looking back, it’s clear that my inspiration to start EvoLink originates from my childhood. My annoyance with incompetent smart home products always remained.
I developed my analytical skills during my Mechanical Engineering studies at university. During my time as a successful webshop founder I got acquainted with entrepreneurship, it suited me. Building everything ourselves from the ground up, I experienced how much can be achieved with so little. I also discovered that development drives me, not operational work. Afterwards, the basis for EvoLink emerged naturally. I got hooked on the idea of delivering a better smart home solution. The perfect match for my desire for endless development and helping people. So expect EvoLink to never stop evolving :)
It’s now clear to me why progress in the world of home automation is so slow. It’s challenging to create a single network connecting and controlling all smart devices in a home. So most companies are product-focussed. But for home automation a focus on people is also essential. It changes the homes people cherish, the way people experience their home. This lack of guidance in changing lives is the main reason why home automation is still not making a breakthrough.
So interweaving home automation with everyone's preferences in an accessible and satisfying way became the perfect challenge for me! This complex mix of people and technology makes home automation so beautiful for me. Taking home automation to a higher level of sophistication is something most current players are unable to do. Especially if profit is their main goal, because there are much easier ways to make profit. In a saturated technological market with so many major players this results in a rare gap in the market.
Most people with my capabilities choose a stable job with a high salary. They are not driven enough to bet everything on a dream like mine. Combined with my drive and vision this creates a unique opportunity to make a beautiful difference on a large scale. This energizes me!
I prefer to keep focussing on development and people. Creating a great EvoLink-team and working together with the smart home community. This is essential to create the best home automation product. I have immersed myself in all the important parts of EvoLink, so I’m ready to lead the development team. For other parts I prefer to have a commercial strategic business expert by my side. This creates the right balance for a successful enterprise.
I have invested maximum and spent many years preparing EvoLink for final development. I’m very excited it’s finally time for the world to enjoy it too! I would love to make a valuable contribution to the smart home community and make EvoLink my life’s work. Will you give me your trust in return?
